Definition of Cesser

The cesser of a term, annuity, etc., takes place when it determines or comes to an end. A proviso for cesser was a provision in a settlement creating a long term of years to secure a sum of money, that the term should determine when the objects of the trust were fulfilled; rendered unnecessary by the Satisfied Terms Act, 1845
