Definition of Clements V. London & North Western Ry. Co.
([1894] 2 Q. B. 490). Contracts with infants not falling within the provisions of the Infants Relief Act, 1874, are binding on the infant if they are for his benefit. An infant railway servant, as a condition of his employment, joined an insurance society, to whose funds the railway company contributed, and agreed to accept compensation on a certain scale from the society in lieu of any claim under the Employers’ Liability Act, 1880. Held, the contract being for the infant’s benefit, it was binding
