The Anchor Life Assurance Co. had insured the life of the Duke of Cambridge in four policies two for 1,000 and two for 500, granted by the company to one Wright} they reinsured with the defendants to the extent of 1,000. Wright subsequently surrendered his policies in consideration of the grant of an annuity, but the company continued to pay the premiums on the re-insurance until the duke’s death. Held, they were entitled to recover on the policy, aa an insurable interest need only exist at the date of effecting the policy, and life insurance is not a contract of indemnity
