Definition of Legitimatio

Children of concubinage could be legitimated :
(1) Per subsequens matrimonium ; by the subsequent marriage of the parents
(2) By offering to the curia (per oblationem curice), i. e., by making a son a dccurio, a member of the magisterial class
(3) By rescript of the emperor. (Justinian.) (Roman law.) Lemaitre v. Davis
((1881), 19 Ch. D. 281). Held, that where ancient buildings belonging to different owners adjoin each other, there is a right of support from the building as well as from the land, and the right of support can arise from prescription
