Liquidator in Europe
Definition of Liquidator
A person appointed to carry out the winding-up oi a company. The duties of a liquidator are to get in and realise the property of the company, to pay its debts, and to distribute the surplus (if any) among the members. The chief difference between a liquidator in a winding-up by the Court and a liquidator appointed in a voluntary winding-up is that the former cannot as a rule take any important step in the winding-up without the sanction of the Court.
