Mostar in Europe

Description of Mostar

The Concise Encyclopedia of the European Union describes mostar in the following terms: [1] In 1993, Mostar, a town in Bosnia, was the scene of intense fighting between Croats and Muslims. The following year, the EU took on the administration of Mostar as a ‘joint action’ under the Common Foreign and Security Policy. This initiative, designed to demonstrate the EU’s maturity as an international force, proved an expensive failure.
