Definition of Prize Courts

Courts specially constituted for the purpose of deciding questions of maritime capture in time of war according to international law. The procedure of the British Prize Court is regulated by the Naval Prize Act, 1864, the Prize Courts Act, 1894, and the Prize Court Procedure Act, 1914. See Zamora
