Rewarding and Approving of Offences in Germany
Provisions relating to rewarding and approving of offences in the German Criminal Code [1]: This criminal issue is covered by Chapter Seven, under the heading “Offences Against Public Order,” located in Section 140 Rewarding and approving of offences, which reads: Whosoever 1. rewards or publicly, in a meeting or through dissemination of written materials (section 11 (3)), and in a manner that is capable of disturbing the public peace, 2. approves of one of the unlawful acts named in section 138 (1) Nos 1 to 4 and section 126 (1), or an unlawful act pursuant to section 176 (3), section 176a and section 176b, section 177 and section 178, or section 179 (3), (5) and (6) after it has been committed or attempted shall be liable to imprisonment of not more than three years or a fine.
