An action in which the formula directed the Judge, if he found the plaintiff’s claim valid, to make an order that the defendant should make amende to the plaintiff, e.g., give up the thing, at the same time fixing the sum that in all the circumstances the defendant ought to pay the plaintiff in case he should fail to make amends, as ordered.
