Definition of Terminus A Quo
The starting point. Terminus ad quern. The finishing point. Terre-tenant. Land holder ; one who has the seisin of land. Territorial. Pertaining to a particular country or territory. ” Territorial waters ” are such parts of the sea adjacent to the coast of a country as are deemed by international law to be within the territorial sovereignty of that country. By the Territorial Waters Jurisdiction Act, 1878, it is enacted that an offence committed by any person within territorial waters (i. e., within one marine league of the coast from low water mark), shall be an offence within the Admiral’s jurisdiction, although committed on a foreign ship.
