Eminent Domain in Europe
Definition of Eminent Domain
The right of a Government to take private property for public purposes. In international law the State is regarded not only as having a power of disposition over the whole of the national territory, but also as the representative owner of both the national territory and all other property found within its limits. (I Pitt Cobbett, 108.)
