Alien in Europe
Definition of Alien
At common law an alien is a subject of a foreign State who was not born within the allegiance of the Crown. But now such a person may become a British subject by naturalisation, and a British subject may become an alien by alienage or by expatriation ; and ” alien ” means a person who is not a British subject. (British Nationality and Status of Aliens Act, 1914, s. 27, sub-s. 1)
The immigration of aliens is regulated by the Alien Restriction Acts, 1914, 1919
