Definition of Return
A report. Thus, the sheriff executing a writ of execution has to report to the Court what he has done in pursuance of it. A writ is said to be returnable at a certain time when the return must be made by that time.
Every company formed under the Companies Acts, and having a share capital, is bound (Companies (Consolidation) Act, 1908, s. 26) to send in a yearly return to the Registrar of Companies, giving a list of its shareholders
