Zamora, The in Europe
Definition of Zamora, The
([1916] A. C. 77). Held, that it is the primary duty and function of the Prize Court to administer international law. The Prize Court is bound by an Act of Parliament, but it is not bound by an Order of the King in Council which is contrary to international law. But the Court will not ignore executive orders which mitigate the rights of the Crown in favour of the enemy or neutral, but will give effect to them
